Well, I’m back from my excursion. It was a lot of fun. I took a lot of pictures and genuinely had a good time. As good as you can have while you’re constantly blowing your nose. Ugh. It’s gotta be allergies. I refuse to believe this is another cold. Besides, it doesn’t feel like a cold.
P stayed over Friday night and we made a frozen pizza and watched Beetlejuice. Later, I made sandwiches for the picnic the next day and some tuna salad. We went to sleep around 1:00 and got up at 7:30am. P drove the entire time, which was fine with me, but I was willing to switch. On the other hand, I don’t see him being the type to let anyone drive his truck other than him. He loves that truck. Let’s hear it for inanimate objects! Anyway, our first stop was this place called Robertson’s, which is kinda bizarre, since he’d told me about this place before (he’s a big fan of their beef jerky) and then my friend Erik was telling me about how one of his friends loves this place too. Neither of us (Erik & I) had ever heard of it before. Anyway, it was really cute, and we picked up a container of beef jerky, some divinity (yuck) and some peanut brittle shaped like Texas. M-m-m-m! Before I begin my Feedback post, here’s an update on what’s been going on: P came over late last night and we watched Shag and he introduced me to Grand Theft Auto (I forget which one) on his PS2. I’m such an old lady, but I’m mesmerized by all the shit he can do in that game. Seriously, I stopped at Nintendo 64. And for good reason: I can’t do all that three-dimensional multi-button shit. It’s just sensory overload. I’d get way too hyper, spaz out and die. I just know it. LOL! However…he did leave the PS2 here (he’s coming back to spend the night tonight, so we can leave early tomorrow morning) and I’m tempted to make a trip up to work and rent the one PS2 game I have played: Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters. God, I love that game! My friend Nathan left it and his PS2 at my house a while back, and you literally didn’t see me for a week. The game has lots of mini games and my favorite was one where you just destroy a city (your choice). That’s it. You just DESTROY SHIT: knock over building with your tail, stomp on things, throw tankers/cars at building, etc. It was such a rush. I couldn’t get enough of it! I may have to get a PS2 after all. Dammit, P! (more…)

As I posted last week, I went to go see the “re-imagining” of the 1980 slasher, My Bloody Valentine. The newest incarnation is in 3-D, and for that reason alone, I was pretty psyched about it. THEN I found out that it’s the REAL 3-D, not that cheap blue lens/red lens crap from the 90’s, and that just upped the ante. Not to mention that both Kerr Smith and Jensen Ackles star in the new version. HELLO!
Afterwards, we had an impromptu gathering at my house, where we had coffee & (ironically) heart-shaped Valentine’s cookies, while watching the the newly-released Special Edition of the original. The overall consensus was that the original’s story line, characters and overall creep-factor, easily surpassed the remake’s. (more…)
