Well, there’s not much to report here at Chez Kirk. P came over last night and we went to Subway and had a late dinner, then back to my house where we watched Stranger Than Fiction. The movie was P’s choice, and though I was apprehensive about it being another ‘wacky’ Will Ferrell movie, it was surprisingly un-madcap as the trailer heavily eluded to. It had its moments and I love Emma Thompson and Queen Latifah (whom, P informed me, finally came ‘out’ as a lesbian! It’s about friggin’ time!).

In an attempt to get the show on the road, in regards to the estate/garage sale at the end of this month, I finally started going through the 57-gallon Rubbermaid tubs that I randomly filled with things from my parents’ house.

When I went home to begin cleaning out the house, I ran across one of my failed attempts at a diary. Reading this only goes to prove 2 things: [1] Some things never change and [2] My social life was always teetering on the edge of a void. LOL!
First 2 pages of an otherwise empty diary, circa 1984:

R.I. P. Bea Arthur
Nomad I hear ya! I dunno if I can pinpoint exactly when Bea started making my life a little better, but I’d have to guess around the time Maude was still on the air. I think the show was on for like 6 years, but I don’t think I probably started watching it until the last year. I’m positive I wasn’t old enough to appreciate the humor, but I learned to in time. Bea was a very talented, savvy lady whom I will sincerely miss. Here’s hoping she’s in a better place.
