Tonight P and I are going to see the midnight showing of Evil Dead II. Though I am generally not a fan of zombie movies, it promises to be a lot of fun. I’m sure it will be a packed house, what with Halloween and everything. Beforehand, we’re planning on stopping by The Hideaway to have a drink and listen to some music (it’s a ‘gay’ piano bar in Dallas). I’m kinda wanting to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the crisp night air. Dunno if he’s up for it, so I may have to sit solo (what else is new?). Oh! And I’m wearing my contacts tonight. Bygod, I’m gonna get some mileage out of them before the Halloween season is over if it kills me! LOL!

Then tomorrow night, we are getting together (in costume) to go with his family (parents/siblings) to take their children (his nieces) trick or treating. And since they are all pretty young we will be back in plenty of time to make a night of it at my place. Traditionally, I like to stay home on Halloween night, open all the windows and enjoy the chill in the air, carve a jack o’lantern while watching Halloween favorites and popping popcorn. I also like to make sloppy joes and eat my share of candy and other assorted goodies. Though I usually prefer to do this alone (as much as I enjoy playing host, there are times when I like to take full advantage of my “me” time: i.e. the fall/winter holidays), this year should be fun with P along for the (albeit subdued) ride.

This year’s movie lineup includes:
- Halloween
- It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
- Night of the Creeps
- Fat Albert’s Halloween Special
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Disney)
- Young Frankenstein
- The Orphanage
- The Brides of Dracula
- The Changeling (1980)
- Halloween III
- Tourist Trap

And I guess that’s about it. Oh! On a completely unrelated topic, it seems like all systems are go for the video store job I mentioned in my October 14th post. Though there may not be THREE stores open in time for Christmas, it’s looking very good that at least ONE of them will be ready: The building has been purchased (in lieu of leasing; it was cheaper), the interiors have been bought (cases, etc.) and the people who will be laying the carpet, painting the interior and wiring the security system have all been contracted. I’m pretty excited, mostly because of creative input, but also because I’ll finally be making some good money for a change. Maybe the psychic was right after all.
