If not, you’re doing it wrong. Okay, maybe that’s not as funny as I thought it was yesterday, so be prepared to agree to disagree. I realize abortion is a heavy topic for a Monday, but this post isn’t so much about your personal stance on the topic, but more about the idiots who perpetuate kookiness.
As I was driving home from Target the other afternoon, I came to a stoplight at a large 4-way stop. On one corner, the monstrosity known as Fielder Baptist Church, where salvation is just a tithe away. On all 4 corners, not to mention the medians dividing the 2 separate flows of traffic AND along the sidewalk, were a dozen or so people, were scattered about, holding up large signs that read ‘Abortion Kills Children.’ My first thought was “Then don’t have one.” My second thought was “At least they spelled everything correctly.” (who wants to see ‘Albinos Kill Chickens’?) I had to shake my head in shame. One more confirmation that the stereotypes that a lot of people have of the southern states: ignorant folks are abundant. Don’t these people have anything better to do on a beautiful Fall afternoon than stand on street corners, holding signs that were a waste of perfectly good markers/posterboard? They could be using that time so much more constructively. Such a shame. Dare I say blasphemous? Yes, I dare: blasphemous. (more…)

I‘m trying to choose a rug for the dining room and have narrowed it down to 3 choices. My walls aren’t any of these colors, so I’m not trying to maintain a certain “theme.” Whichever design I choose, it will be a round rug, if that has any affect on your selection. Which one do you like?
