So, one of the few things I’ve done in the last few days is read. I just finished reading the 1957 short story by George Langelaan, The Fly. Yep, the same fly on which the movie(s) were based. It wasn’t necessarily an intentional read, as it was part of a compilation of other short horror stories, but thoroughly entertaining just the same.

I’ve always enjoyed the films (The Fly: 1958, Return of the Fly: 1969 { OMG, is Brett Halsey not the hottest fuckin’ thing in that movie?! SIGH } and Curse of the Fly: 1965), but had never taken the time to read the story on which they were based. Naturally, being a fan of the 1958 version, I envisioned all the same actors & actresses while reading the original short story. (more…)
