Finds of All Kinds

I‘m psyched about going to an estate sale this morning. It’s weird how groovy old homes can be so close and yet you never see them. Well, I say groovy like I’ve actually been there, though I’ve only seen the interior of the home (and its contents) via an e-mail. I’m on several estate sale e-mail lists and this one in particular, includes images with their e-mails. I’m hoping that the books & records (shown) will prove fruitful. I also have my eye on a screen (shown), but I’m not holding my breath on that one.

It’s supposed to rain today and tomorrow, which always makes me happy. Ironically, I started feeling anything but, late last night. I’m not sure what brought it on, but whatever the case, I texted P and cancelled our dinner plans. He’s very busy. I don’t feel up to it. Either way, I wouldn’t be much fun to be around. And one must be ‘fun’ at all times, mustn’t one? And the stupid part is, I still want to hang out with him, but I know if I did, it would be uncomfortable and I’d feel like I needed to be more interactive than I’d want to be. It’s not necessary to fill every void with blather. Sometimes, silence really is golden. Silence does not always = problem.

I’ve been wanting to see Sherlock Holmes before it leaves theaters, so I might go do that later today. I told myself the same thing yesterday, then went back to bed.

I got yet ANOTHER update from an online dating service that I joined ages ago. They continue to bombard me with “New matches in your area!” Nine times out of ten, the dating pool continues to do nothing more than validate my feelings on just what’s out there. I dunno, I guess I just enjoy filling out the questionnaires. LOL! How sad is that? It’s like those crazy slam books we used to make in middle school. I loved that shit! Unfortunately, now the questions have gotten considerably more complex and sometimes not as fun (especially when it makes you reflective). The guys who “like” me (via OKCupid) are nice guys, I’m sure, just not my type. However, there is, on occasion, someone who catches my eye, and this is one of them. Who am I kidding? This is one of two in the last 8 months. LOL! He’s just too cute. There’s a nearly 10 year age gap, but other than that, we’re an “88% Match.” Shyeah, right. He’s cute though…and you know how that works out, or should I say doesn’t. The cute ones always want another cute one, thus leaving me in the lurch for, well, Lurch. Anyway, this guy is too cute and I like that he wears glasses, his name is “Brock” (or at least his screen name is ‘BrockSt‘) and he works in film. *sigh*

Picked up a few new CDs at Barnes & Noble yesterday. I’m especially loving the Enigma CD (Voyageur). It’s an older one (2003), that I had no idea existed until I saw it there in the bin. The reviews on Amazon.com are less than stellar, but personally, I really love it. So much for tastes, huh? I’ve included links to several of the songs on the CD, just in case you’re interested. I’d have posted the actual videos for some of them here, but the official video for one of my favorite songs on the album, is kinda retarded, and personally, I’d be embarrassed to post it here. Normally, their videos are beautiful, but they dropped the ball on this one; it looks like Maya Rudolph (of SNL fame) is schitzing out all over (Málaga) Spain.

Voyageur
Boum-Boum
Incognito
The Piano
In the Shadow, In the Light

He’s got a Vin Diesel-esque quality. What the hell, go for it.
