
Yes, I’m finally getting around to reviewing Sherlock Holmes. I think I was probably the last person amongst my friends that saw it. The consensus was that it was good. I have to agree. Here’s why:
• I loved the visual style. The color palette was a great combination of grays, greens and blacks. The movie posters did it justice as well. I also really enjoyed the editing style in which it showed how Sherlock’s mind worked; how he calculated things, arriving at his conclusions, whether it be clues or how to one-up his opponent.

I enjoy the occasional “romantic comedy”; AKA a “chick flick”…whatever. Apparently having emotions is just for the ladies; men are ‘too cool’ for that kind of stuff. Again, whatever. That being said, one of my favorite romantic comedies is a little film made back in 1995, called A Modern Affair. It stars Stanley Tucci in what turned out to be my introduction to the actor. I remember thinking he was SO damn sexy. I still think he is and have since come to love many of his films, most recently, Julie & Julia. (more…)
