I’m Not Out of the Woods, But I See a Clearing
So, a few weeks around 3AM I was bored and in need of groceries, so I stopped by the 24-hour Kroger. I like doing my grocery shopping at night (especially in the summertime; to avoid the ridiculous heat…in theory: it’s been 95ยบ at 3am the last few weeks). Anyway, I decided to check my blood pressure at the little machine they have sitting in the pharmacy area.
Before I get too far along, let me preface this by saying that I haven’t been to the doctor in over a decade. I had health insurance all that time, but just got tired of getting dud doctors, so I just quit going altogether. It felt like I was paying for something I could do at home: weigh myself, check my blood pressure and tell me I’m fat. Duh! Cha-ching! NEXT! (more…)
