Why am I having erotic dreams about Nick Jonas of all people? I was never a JoBro fan, though I do remember having a brief discussion with a friend over which one was the cutest (at the time, we both agreed that it was Joe…who, have you seen him and his new ‘do lately? ROWR!), but that was like 5 or 6 years ago! Then I remember reading that the gay one, er, I mean the totally not gay one (ahem), Kevin got “married”, cuz he was super-ready to to dump that promise ring and touch his fiancee’s naughty zone with his pee-pee. Then I remember being so bored that I attempted to watch an episode of their Disney show (they had a Disney show?) and could only take 7 minutes of it before I had to cry ‘Uncle!’ Now comes this nocturnal Nick nonsense. As Billy Ocean once said, get outta my dreams, Nick…and into my car! …now detail the inside and I’d prefer Clean Linen as my fragrance du jour. (more…)
I first heard about this abortion of a movie, from a friend via Facebook. I watched the trailer and though ‘What a stinkburger.’ So, naturally, when it came to RedBox I rented it. Actually, I was craving SOMETHING Halloween-ish that I hadn’t seen and since I love werewolves, this was pretty much my only option. Well, this or Spooky Buddies. I would have been better off with Spooky Buddies.
Brief synopsis: On the eve of his high school graduation, unremarkable Will Kidman finally bonds with the girl he has long yearned for, but he also discovers a dark secret… that he is about to become a werewolf. In an effort to fight destiny and save their lives, they must battle not only Will’s growing bloodlust but an army of werewolves bent on world domination. (more…)

Read this Carolyn Hax column recently. Thought it was interesting.
‘Sick About Needing Someone Who Cares’
Hi Carolyn:
I was sent home early from a work trip with the flu. I got home around 1 a.m. and texted my boyfriend to let him know. I didn’t hear back from him till around noon the next day, when I chatted with him online. He asked if I needed anything, and I said I’d really love sherbet and tissues, but I can manage without.
Later, I find out that he’s not going to come see me because I don’t “need” anything.
I realize he’s not my mom, but we’ve been dating two years and all I want is to feel like someone cares enough to take care of me. In his defense, he said he had a meeting that evening, but it turns out he got the day wrong and there was no meeting. And he said if I had really needed something, he would have made it happen. Am I overreacting?

As you know from my Grindr posts, I utilize an app available on the iPhone/iPad, that’s basically a GPS for fags, ahem, I mean gay men. That’s it. So anyway, I changed my picture a few weeks ago (shown above, which is also my current wallpaper on the iPad), to get in the mood for fall, but more so because it’s not going to affect my prospects one way or the other (i.e. actual picture of myself vs random images); they’re all a buncha ‘hos. Basically I log in when I’m bored, to check out any new eyecandy.
So, I sarcastically put in my profile: “Looking to meet the mute, bodybuilding orphan of my dreams. Not part of “the scene.” A functioning brain is a big +.” The keyword being SARCASM, esp. pertaining to the first sentence. Stupid me assumed this would be a given, but instead I get messaged by some sassy fag, thinking he was somehow going to ‘read’ me, by ‘calling me out’ on my profile. For those who don’t speak homoese: He thought he was going to educate me in a bitchy way; not out of helpfulness, but out of bitchiness. Here’s our brief “conversation”: (more…)

Scream 4- One word review: Stink. As for the 714 word review…
I have fond memories of seeing the original Scream in theaters with friends. I fell in love with it. On the one hand, it was scary and felt fresh and I liked the cast. On the other hand, I wasn’t one of those people who felt like the whole tongue-in-cheek/self-referential aspect was that groundbreaking or that big of a deal. Well, at least not as big a deal as everyone has turned it into. Personally, I never got why that aspect was SUCH a focus. It felt secondary, but maybe that’s just me. I’ve seen a lot of slasher movies.
The synopsis this time around is as follows: Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately, Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger. (more…)

A friend published this via Facebook, and I loved it so much (both the sentiment and the imagery) I thought I would share it with you. It was designed/illustrated by Molly Crabapple. Click the hyperlink to check out her other work. It’s beautiful! I love her style. Personally, I’m all for occupying Wall Street, but the cynic in me says that the message will be lost on the ones who need to hear it most. People like that are oblivious to life outside their bubble. *sigh*

I just found out about this new series, which premieres this Friday on NBC. I love the concept and the series looks great! Too bad I’ll have to wait until it hits DVD before I can watch it. I was more than a little surprised that Sean Hayes (über fruit ‘Jack’ from Will & Grace) is one of the Executive Producers. I’d always written him off as a one trick pony-archetype. Maybe he’ll surprise me, like 70′s pretty boy, Shaun Cassidy (of Hardy Boys fame) did when he produced one of my favorite TV shows of ’95, American Gothic. (more…)

Read more about it here. The Coffin Cafe may be my favorite…so far.

• KDFC Classical Music Station
Comments: I listen to this station via AppleTV, but it’s also available for streaming online. Perfect soundtrack for the change of season. I love playing it while I do things around the house. Nice, non atypical selection of composers and music. Based in the San Francisco Bay area, this is a commercial-free station.
• Kroger’s Pulled Pork Sandwich
Comments: OMG! I’d never had one of these before a few weeks ago, so I was more than a little surprised how friggin’ delicious they are!! Normally ready around lunchtime, you can get 2 for $3. DELICIOUS!!
• Crave’s Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Soft Cat Treats
Comments: Ok, technically I’M not enjoying these, Chumley is, but I get a kick out of the name, not to mention the nostalgia kick. I remember this brand from the 80′s, but had no idea Crave was still being made. Too bad they got rid of the cute, illustrated cat mascot. He was the main appeal (to me).
