Okay, I’ve had a Pinterest account for a while now, but until recently it was just a passing fancy that I would randomly check in on whenever I thought about it. HOWEVER, with everyone at work talking about it, I decided to play with it a little more. I initially just had one folder labeled ‘Eyecandy’, that I pinned everything into. Then everyone was telling me that THEY had theirs categorized by folder…so I created MORE folders and got organized. Then I added a few more pins, as I thought of things…then I saw some things others had pinned and I ‘repinned’ those…then I lost all control and now it is consuming my every waking moment!! LOL! But seriously, it is deliciously wicked (that sounded super-queer, didn’t it? I just heard it in my mind and thought “God, Kirk, that sounds so fruity”). It’s true though! ‘Delicious’ in the sense that I LOVE imagery and ‘wicked’ in the sense that it consumes me for hours at a time, as I think of more and more things.

Anyway, if you wanna see what I’ve pinned, you can check out my Pinterest here. If you aren’t a convert, maybe you will be. I have others telling me that Tumblr is the way to go, but I can only process so much information at a time. Maybe later. For now, it’s all about Pinterest.

• Yoberry Pineapple Froyo
Comment: There is a frozen yogurt place down the street from me, called YoBerry. I love them. They normally have 15-20 different flavors that change over time; some stay, some change. My favorite used to be the Pineapple Tart, but the Angel Food Cake is really good too. They got rid of the Pineapple Tart and replaced it with just plain Pineapple. OMG, I’m in love. I think I like it even better than the tart. Soooo good. Soooo cheap. Delicious!
• Marco Polo Brand Shrimp Snacks
Comment: I bought these during a recent visit to the Hong Kong Supermarket. I got these and another brand I normally buy. Well, after eating these, I’ve found my new favorite shrimp-flavored chip. These are much lighter and tastier than the other brand I’m used to. I’m a convert.
• Zuko Limeade/Lemonade Drink Mix
Comment: I came across this recently at Elrod’s Cost-Plus. They sell them 4 for $1, so I thought I’d try it out. Oh man! Am I glad I did! It’s perfect: Not too sweet (it’s pre-sweetened) and it really tastes fresh and crisp, like real lime. SO good!

Abduction- Okay, before I get too far along with this brief review, you already know, that I only rented this because me likee the Taylor Lautner. It sure wasn’t because the movie looked good. And although I like the package he comes wrapped in, I must admit that I too got wrapped up in the Twilight hype when he returned with a rockin’ bod…then I saw said film he returned for and my interest quickly waned. It was cringeworthy. I assumed it was the material…now I’m thinking it’s the messenger (shoot him already). Don’t get me wrong, Lautner is still pretty, but that’s about it. There are lots of pretty packages out there. Too bad most of them are empty when you shake ‘em.

Synopsis: A thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.

Now before I do MY review, here is a link to a hilariously accurate one that I read online. It’s considerably more brutal, but nonetheless honest. My review will be nowhere near this entertaining, so I’ll leave it up to you if you want to read it now or later.

While watching this abomination, this scene from an episode of Family Guy kept coming to mind (sorry for the shitty sound quality):

Everything Peter was saying whilst eating the pine cone, was pretty much what I was thinking to myself as I watched the movie.

Um, I don’t have a lot to say about this one. It was nice to see Sigourney Weaver and Alfred Molina. When I think of Alfred Molina, I instantly think Prick Up Your Ears, one of my favorite movies. Same thing with Sigourney and Alien. But I digress.

From the get-go, Lautner was just awful. I’m not sure if it’s my own personal baggage of associating good-looking with douchbaggery, but he lived up to it and then some. He just came off as a douchebag that I didn’t care about. His character was good-looking, built, popular (natch), had wealthy parents, etc…yet within the first 30 minutes, we see him in his psychologist’s office, whining about how he feels like a “freak” (this generation’s go-to word for not fitting in), he doesn’t know where he belongs, yada yada yada. Wah. You’ve now doubled your douchebag factor.

Although I think Lautner is hot…his looks border on too perfect. I kept thinking back to that scene from Steel Magnolia’s where Olympia Dukakis is talking to Dolly Parton about her whitebread relatives (grandson, granddaughter, children) and the camera pans over and they all look at her and grin these big toothy smiles and wave to her enthusiastically, and as she feigns an exuberant smile, waving back, as she says out of the corner of her mouth “They all look like they’ve been carved out of cream cheese.” THAT’S how I feel about Lautner; he’s just too groomed. He doesn’t seem real, from his airbrushed complexion to his bleached teeth, to his perfectly manicured hair and eyebrows: it just doesn’t seem real. And let’s face it, he’s Gen Duh’s Mario Lopez: he’s coasting on his appearance. Therein lies no substance, so get thee to acting classes STAT! Maybe he’ll get better with age (talent-wise); looks-wise, he’s got decades to coast.

In the end: The movie was just bad. Not even laughable-bad, but more cringeworthy-bad. I knew going in that it wasn’t going to be high art, but with John Singleton directing, my standards weren’t that low. After all, I loved Four Brothers and enjoyed Higher Learning…but then that was 6-10 years ago. This was a by-the-book “thriller” for the texting crowd. Avoid like the plague.

With that said, I’ll leave you with this still from the best part of the film (which happened within the first 10 minutes):

I Don’t Know How She Does It- I like Sarah-Jessica Parker. Always have. I think I enjoyed her more when she seemed more humble, because, quite frankly, she comes off like she loves the smell of her own farts too much. Whatever the case, I’ll usually check out her movies. I also like Greg Kinnear (who looks adorable in his glasses in this movie).

Synopsis: A comedy centered on the life of Kate Reddy, a finance executive who is the breadwinner for her husband and two kids.

The movie went quick for me. If I had to guess why, I’d say probably because the story was such a familiar one that I really didn’t have to pay much attention. In the end, I felt like the movie was, well, forgettable. Yes, it made me laugh out loud a few times, and I enjoyed the (very Sex And The City…speaking of, did you get a load of the OBVIOUS SATC angle the PR people tried to do with one of the poster designs? From a distance, it looked like the 4 characters from the show! Painfully obvious) narrative, from Parker’s perspective. Heck, I didn’t even mind the whole mommy factor, as it didn’t seem beat to death in the way it normally is. I guess I just felt like the main character (Parker) kinda got guilted (by co-workers, in-laws, husband and colleagues, etc.) into always being the one who was “sorry”…for everything, even her success. I didn’t see her husband doing any apologizing, just a lot of pouting. In the end she always ended up backing down…”for the sake of the family.” Personally, I could live with a little less family time if I could’ve had the kick-ass lifestyle they seemed to be enjoying. But hey, that’s just me.

All in all, I enjoyed the movie; it was definitely worth the rental. However, it’s not something I see myself adding to my DVD collection. It just didn’t resonate as something that warranted repeated viewings. Like I said: enjoyable, but in the end, forgettable.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes- Though The Planet of The Apes phenomena took place during my formative years, I was never really an avid fan. Didn’t hate, didn’t love it; I was kinda indifferent. It’s kinda how I felt about Star Trek, and like Star Trek, Planet of The Apes also had an animated counterpart which I enjoyed (own). So, going into this film, I wasn’t really holding it to any kind of standards in regards to its predecessors.

Synopsis: During experiments to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, a genetically-enhanced chimpanzee uses its greater intelligence to lead other apes to freedom.

First off, I’d only seen the trailer, maybe once, and I remembered thinking it looked interesting. Well, at least more interesting than most of the other fare coming out around the same time. My point: I somehow managed to overlook the fact that one of the major plot points was that they were working with the apes in order to find a cure for Alzheimer’s. Needless to say, this aspect was kind of a bummer for me, so I fast-forwarded through most of John Lithgow’s performance, which is unfortunate, since he was one of the few highlights of the film.

To save time and get to my bulletpoints, I’ve gathered a couple of random quotes from other people’s reviews via IMDB. I’ll wrap it all up with my two cents.

Guy who looks like he left college a week ago finds a cure for Alzheimers; He breaks all the rules and experiments on father disregarding the obvious negative side effects on his experimental subjects.

Caesar’s facial features looked a little too human, not enough chimp. Really. (It was supposed to be his brain that was affected, not his face)

In addition, someone else said something to the affect that Draco Malfoy (AKA Tom Felton) was in the film as a demented ape wrangler and that this time around instead of classmates (a la the Harry Potter films), he’s teasing apes. That pretty much summed up his character. Not a big stretch from other characters he’s played; different astral plane, same song & dance.

All in all, I didn’t love or hate the movie, it was merely watchable. Franco looked good (clean), which was a nice distraction. And I thought it had an interesting premise and was a good starting point to kick off any potential franchise possibilities…BUT, I often found my mind wandering, thinking what the film would look like if alllll the CGI was removed; there wouldn’t have been a movie, that’s what would’ve happened. Most characters were one-dimensional archetypes, while others were completely superfluous (i.e. Franco’s love interest). I realize that with this type of premise that realistically there couldn’t have been REAL apes in every single scene, but the movie didn’t even feel like that was ever even an option; it was a CGI spectacle from the get-go.

Personally, I don’t know why it couldn’t have been an animated film, voiced by popular actors. It would have been just as entertaining in my opinion, if not more-so. I’ve said this before and received puzzled looks, but I STILL think some franchises could totally pull off an fully animated installment, say Friday the 13th, for instance. I don’t know why that’s such a “out there” concept. I’m not even talking Pixar 3D rendering or 3D gimmicks of any kind, just straight out animation in a style reflective of the subject matter. But hey, that’s just me. I just think animation has come a long way, but still has lots of room to grow. Unfortunately, it’s still considered a medium for “the children.”

In the end: good premise, entertaining enough, but too bogged down in focusing on the trees instead of the forest (i.e. the bigger picture). You might enjoy it, if you have the patience. Most of the action takes place in the last 30-45 minutes. Good try, but could’ve been a lot better with more fleshed-out characters and less “technology”.

First off, I had to share with you the funniest thing about a box of Girl Scout cookies:

“Use or freeze before Sept. 2012″ Hilarious! Like those bitches are gonna make it till the end of the week.

Secondly, while we’re on the subject of Girl Scouts, I gotta chime in with my 2¢ about this recent hubbub about the whole “transgender” child whose mother basically bullied his/her way into a club that was initially exclusively female.

For those unfamiliar with the story, you can read about it here. That’ll save me time doing the whole exposition thing.

[1] I am not “against” anyone being transgender. You can’t fight how you feel and I can relate to that, to an extent, being a gay man. HOWEVER, “transgender” has become the new predicament du jour, in the vein of peanut allergies (I’ll get to that one later!), autism, ADD, “It gets better” campaign (don’t E V E N get me started!), etc. Not to say that transgender is an “ailment” to be cured, as in there’s something “fixable” there, but you know where I am coming from.

With that said, I find it extremely hard to believe that a child of 7 years old, can make a decision like that. Not without some coaching anyway. I’m sorry, I just don’t buy it. I can believe that a child of that age may enjoy and/or be more interested in things that are not necessarily gender-specific to their own gender (i.e. boys liking dolls, ribbons, frilly clothes, etc.). Heck, I know I liked colorful, fashionable clothes (a big no-no when you’re a boy growing up in Texas), stuffed animals, jumping rope, etc. and had zero interest in what all the other boys were doing: playing Hot Wheels, sports and/or “poppin’ wheelies” on their bikes.

I can understand, WITHIN REASON, that a parent (Bobby’s mother) wants their child to be “happy”. Well, duh, of course they do. That’s what all parent’s want. BUT, you have GOT to approach the child and their environment with common sense. Just because your kid “knows” they’re gay, transgender, etc., doesn’t mean that you have to be some kind of maverick behind the scenes. Cuz, baby, even if you fill your kids with all the self-esteem they can eat, you’re not always gonna be there when they’re getting teased for “being themselves”. You’re not gonna be there when they get the shit kicked out of them or their property damaged because some hillbilly hates him some ‘qwares’. And even if they’ve had the forethought to be taught how to defend themselves, a bullet don’t care if you’re a black belt.

This is exactly why I have no empathy for the kids who make the choice to “come out” while they are still in school (re: males wanting to run for homecoming queen, have same-sex proms, etc.). I don’t think it’s brave or see them as some kind of trailblazer who’re being true to themselves. No, I see them as someone who’s going to not only have to deal with the psychological warfare of name-calling/teasing/harassment, but potentially bodily harm and/or death. Is it really worth it to “be yourself” during your formative years? No. No, it’s not. It’s like Kenny Rogers said: “You gotta know when to hold ‘em. Know when to fold ‘em. Know when to walk away. Know when to run.” Words to live by.

[2] According to articles I’ve read, lil’ Bobbie’s dreams were dashed and he/she was “devastated” when he was told he was not allowed to be in GIRL Scouts. Okay. And? You know what that’s called? LIFE. Just because you want something doesn’t mean it’s destined to happen. Nothing wrong with learning that lesson early in life. Also nothing wrong with a parent telling their CHILD “No”. If they need an explanation, explain it the best you can and move on. In the end, it’s called boundaries. Gay or straight, everyone needs them. Hell, for the five years The Incredible Hulk was on television, I wanted to oil up Lou Ferrigno and use him as a Slip ‘n Slide (I still want to, who am I kidding?), but that didn’t happen. I somehow managed to move on with my life.

But no, kiddie’s mommy causes a stink by going directly to the media with said problem and naturally, the Girl Scouts not wanting bad publicity, gave in and now lil’ Bobby is a Girl Scout. So, what it boils down to is the wants of ONE person is going to outweigh the wants of an entire organization? Because ONE child’s PARENT has an agenda, the hell with the rest of the troop? I call bullshit. There’s a reason it’s called GIRL/BOY Scouts. That’s also the reason there’s such a thing as Adventure Scouts, which is unisex.

[3] My next subject isn’t coming from a “Oh! He/she’s going to molest someone!”-perspective. It’s not coming from a sexual place. And even though Bobby’s mommy questioned “What’s the big deal?” It IS a big deal. Not because I think Bobby wants to pound underage vag, but because boys and girls ARE anatomically different. Sure, this may not be immediately relevant when it comes to things like attending scout meetings, making crafts and other mundane things, but how does this work if there’s a sleepover, swimming, etc. What, NOW the scout leaders have to stop and make a special arrangement for Bobby? C’mon. Surely common sense dictates that it can’t all be poo-pooed away with a simple “They’re just kids.”

We’ve reached a point in society where it’s not “cool” to have a differing opinion when it comes to ‘sensitive’ subjects like homosexuality/transgender. While I can appreciate my straight /gay counterparts bipartisanism, I’ve grown weary of gay people supporting a cause simply because it’s a GAY cause, with complete disregard for common sense, while straight people are so afraid of being labeled homophobic (or the new term du jour: transphobic) and un-trendy that they’ll jump on the bandwagon, regardless of the cause, for fear of being ostracized.

And as a prologue to the whole Girl Scout cookie ban obviously instigated by all the right-wing nutjobs, I again call bullshit. I didn’t even know about it when I bought 3 boxes of cookies outside the grocery store, NOR did I buy them to show my overzealous, misguided support of the “GLBT community”. I bought them because my fat-ass loves Peanut Butter Patties. Go figure.

A few weeks ago I visited one of my favorite stores: Hong Kong Supermarket. I love going there because I LOVE looking at just about everything, especially the packaging design; it’s all so colorful and fun. I stocked up on my favorite Japanese udon noodles (like Ramen, but better!) and cappuccino pocky (Japanese snack cookie) and even bought some new rice bowls with koi on them and a package of orange plastic chopsticks. As always, I brought my camera and snapped a few photos as well.

The supermarket is housed inside a mall. The mall and its stores are primarily Asian. It’s like any other mall you’ve been to, as it has a music store, food court (tofu, eggrolls, American, bistros, etc.), bank, bakery, gift shops, etc. At one of the gift shops (think dollar store on acid) I bought this adorable ceramic bobblehead dog. He’s a little under 3″ high and was just too adorable to pass up! I’m not an avid bobblehead buyer, but I do like some. It really depends on what it looks like, and this one was a keeper!

As you know, I am far from a health nut, but I did take notice of the sodium content on some of the packaged Ramen/Udon-type noodles (there are a TON of flavors!). I’m pretty used to seeing anywhere from 450-850 on SO many things (both American and Asian), but when I saw “1750-1850″ grams of sodium on some of the packages of noodles, it blew my friggin’ mind!! OMG, can you even imagine? Insane! I mentioned to a friend that I didn’t see how Asian people could eat this stuff on a regular basis and he just shrugged and said that they don’t. Um, okay. They just sell it here and I don’t see hoards of Americans beating a path to it. SOMEONE is eating it. Whatever the case, the sodium content was bananas. Just thought it was interesting. And for the record, the noodles I buy do NOT have that high a level of sodium + I keep them on hand when there is nothing else in the house and/or I am in the mood for some. If I ate them every day my heart would implode. LOL!

[1] Front of the store/mall entrance
[2] Stone Fu Dog that flanks either side of the entrance
[3] Ginormous statue in the main entrance (they change out with each New Year)
[4] Cap’n Salty frozen fish: Found this in the frozen food aisle. Cracked me up. Loved it
[5] Squid jerky. LOVE the packaging, and as you know, all things squid and/or octopus. Am NOT a fan of the contents. Blech
[6] “Sliming” Tea. This cracked me up. Made me think of Ghostbusters. What a difference a letter makes, huh?
[7] Kikiriki Drumstix: “Kikiriki” means cock-a-doodle-doo. These are basically fried chicken-flavored crackers. I dunno if they are any good, but they just might be. I just fell in love with the chicken on the package. Cute

This illustration is by an artist named Gemma Correll. I first learned of her work when I bought several of her cards where I work. Months later, the same cards (two in particular) that I bought went on clearance, so I put them aside to buy later (they were like 20¢ less than their original price, which I didn’t consider much of a discount…so I waited). Fast forward a month or so, and I got a giftcard to where I work, so I decided to use it towards the 10 or so cards that were on clearance that I’d put aside. Turns out they were a mere 68¢ a piece (that’s more like it!). They’re blank inside, so I can use them for any occasion.

Here’s my favorite one:

<p align="center"

As it turns out, the illustrator used to sell her stuff on Etsy, but not she has her own site, which is too cute. Thought I would share it with you. I love her style. Makes me wish I had a drawing style that lent itself to cards/illustrations. I can draw, but none of it has a distinct ‘style’. Whatever the case, I’m a big fan of her illustrations and thought I would share. Enjoy!

Our Idiot Brother- I rented this because of my love for Paul Rudd.

Synopsis: A comedy centered on an idealist who barges into the lives of his three sisters.

First off, if you saw the trailer, it was pretty misleading, in my opinion. The trailer makes the film seem as if the film is going to be about this wacky misfit brother and his inability to navigate within the real world. Well, it’s partly right. Less wacky and more story…lots of story. This movie is about family dynamics.

I liked the film, but it wasn’t the film I thought I was renting…if that makes sense. Well, let’s just say it’s not the film I wanted. I watched the film from beginning to end, no fast-forwarding, though I was tempted at times. I wanted more slapstick and less dialogue. The movie crammed a lot of brother/sister issues in a short time span. There seemed to be more time dedicated to how the family, as a whole, related to their “idiot brother”, than how the brother related to the world around him. It’s hard to explain. Let’s just say I enjoyed the movie, but I wouldn’t want to own it. I like Paul Rudd, but he’s done (and can do) better. Worth a rental, if you don’t go into it expecting hilarity.

The Change-Up- I LOVE both Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds, so renting this at the RedBox was a no-brainer. FINDING it at a RedBox was another story; it took me nearly 3 weeks before I finally tracked a copy down and was able to watch it.

Synopsis: Dave is a married man with two kids and a loving wife , and Mitch is a single man who is at the prime of his sexual life. One fateful night while Mitch and Dave are peeing in a fountain when lightning strikes and they switch bodies.

First off, I’m a sucker for Freaky Friday-type movies. I kind of OD’ed in the 80′s on some of the lesser titles (18 Again, Like Father, Like Son), but overall, I’m game. The movie started out kinda ‘meh’, then the switcheroo took place and then I got annoyed and wanted to forward wind. That was actually more about my discomfort (re: Reynolds, as Bateman, totally fucking up his big meeting). Once I got over that, it was smooth sailing. And though I didn’t find the film a laugh a minute riot, I must admit that there was a scene that had me coughing my brains out because I was laughing so hard: the scene where Reynolds, as Bateman, is getting all worked up come bedtime, thinking he is going to get to ‘nail’ Bateman’s wife. Suffice to say, she doesn’t live up to his expectations. H I L A R I O U S!

Though Reynolds has the bod/face combo that I normally go gaga over, it was Bateman who shined in this ensemble; his expressions, his reactions, etc. far exceeded Reynolds, hands down. I don’t know what it is about Bateman, but I have done a total 180º when it comes to him. I used to not be able to STAND him as a child actor in the 80′s, but since the early 2000′s, I have totally fallen in love with him. I think what won me over, initially, was how WHITE-HOT he was in The Sweetest Thing. But now, it’s more a combination of his presence, comedic delivery AND looks. I’m a convert.

So, if you get the chance, check it out. It’s definitely worth a rental and it is definitely something I would add to my DVD collection.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2- I must admit I got a late start on the whole Harry Potter phenomena. I’d guesstimate a good 4-5 years. All I saw was a bunch of nerds in glasses, swarming each subsequent book release. I did NOT see what the big deal was, and the word ‘wizard’ conjured up 80′s geekdom all over again, circa the whole Dungeons & Dragons phenomena. As far as I was concerned, it all fell into the renaissance festival category: Dork City.

Then I rented the first movie, just to see what the hell it was all about. I was good, not great, but good. Good enough to see the second one…which led to the third, then before you know it, I was hooked. I was just as surprised as anyone, but I ended up loving the series, though I must admit I’m more of a fan of them in their older years (around the start of the third film). The films just got better and better.

Now even though I was a fan, I didn’t get too mental over the fact that the series was ending. I talked to some people who said they CRIED during the last one (knowing it was the last film, etc.). I didn’t get that involved. Perhaps if I’d grown up with the series or perhaps gotten into the whole phenomenon of the books, I might feel differently. I still regret not reading the books. I may be ready to tackle them now.

On to the movie. I LOVED it. I have to admit that that Part 1 (Deathly Hallows) was kind of a snooze at times. But now I see why it had to be, in order for Part 2 to be set up properly (kinda like the reverse with Kill Bill). Part 2 had it all: mystery, suspense, action, drama, humor. I loved it. It’s one of the few (and perhaps, maybe even the ONLY one) I saw in the theater (I forget). I can only imagine how awesome it would’ve been in 3D. Omg!

So, if you’re so inclined AND you get the opportunity, I would definitely recommend seeing the movie. And if you haven’t seen any of the series, be sure and start from the beginning, otherwise the ending loses its punch. Rented it twice on RedBox, and finally got it the other day (as a trade-in for some old DVDs/CDs). Recommend!

Comments: I regret not seeing this one in 3D in the theater. When it came out, I scoffed, thinking “How are they gonna get another one out of these guys?” Boy, was I wrong. I ended up loving it more than I’d anticipated. I watched it on NetFlix half a dozen times. I think part of it was that I was super-excited to see Johnny Knoxville & Ryan Dunn again. Still, SO beautiful. And the other reason I enjoyed it so much was because it made me laugh again and again and remember why I love Jackass so much. Seeing Ryan is bittersweet. Poor guy. And yes, I realize he was “drink-driving” (I HATE this new term, it sounds ridiculous. What was wrong with DRUNK-driving? Oy!), but no one deserves what happened to him. Sad on all counts.
• Quantum of Solace © 2008
Comments: Been wanting this one since I rented it from Blockbuster Express. Picked this one up at Big Lots! for $3.
• The Wolfman © 2010
Comments: Got this one FREE as a trade-in for old DVDs/CDs. The perfect price.
• Strange Behavior © 1981
• Mask Maker © 2010
• Icons of Horror Collection: Boris Karloff
- The Man They Could Not Hang © 1939
- Before I Hang © 1940
- The Boogie Man Will Get You © 1942
Comments: LOVE Karloff. Some never-before-released goodies in this collection. Hell, The Man They Could Not Hang alone is $15 on iTunes! Crazy!! Got this one with an Amazon gift card from a friend.
• Get Carter © 1971
Comments: Been wanting to see this one ever since I saw the trailer on the Sylvester Stallone remake. Got this one for my birthday from a friend who sent me an Amazon gift card!
• Hospital Massacre © 1982
Comments: Found this, along with a lot more never-released-to-DVD slasher titles, at a local used CD/DVD store. Whoever burned this copy did a really nice job: cover art, menus, chapters, etc. ALWAYS wanted to see this one. Finally got to! Not great, but enjoyable. Seriously LOVED the opening scene. Good body count and it all takes place on Valentine’s Day! New Valentine’s Day slasher title to add to my movie marathon!
• ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas © 1974
Comments: One of my favorite animated Christmas specials as a child. FINALLY on DVD! Got this one free (trading in old DVDs/CDs).
• The Muppet Christmas Carol © 1992
Comments: A friend on Facebook mentioned she was watching this and I immediately wanted to watch it too…then realized I didn’t already own it! Came SO close to renting it from iTunes, but ended up getting it FREE by trading in some unwanted CDs & DVDs. Hurray for free!
• Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 © 2011
Comments: LOVED this movie. Was sad to see it end, but what an ending!
• Night School © 1981
Comments: This was a Christmas gift from a friend. One of my favorite 80′s slashers!
